It's being reported that former Stevens Point head coach John Miech, who stepped down in December, will join Whitewater's coaching staff this fall. This could be even bigger news than when long time coach of River Falls, John O'Grady, stepped down only to join Oshkosh's coaching staff last season. Miech could potentially bring a wealth of experience to already established Whitewater coaching staff.

By Kevin Lu, Multimedia Journalist
Former UW Stevens Point football coach John Miech is set to take a job with UW Whitewater.
According to several people close to the situation, Miech will become the Warhawks' new wide receivers coach as soon as next week.
Miech was head football coach at UWSP for 24 seasons before leaving the program this fall.
He is the all-time winningest coach in Pointers history with 156 victories, has won four WIAC titles and three coach of the year honors.
Sources were not authorized to talk about the situation because the hire has not been made official.
Miech will take over for Josh Gehring, who is now the head football coach at Nebraska's Midland University.
Lance Leipold is the head coach at UW Whitewater, helping the Warhawks win four Division III football national championships.
Miech had worked with Leipold's father, Ken Leipold at Jefferson High School, where Leipold was the athletic director and Miech was the head football coach for three seasons.
